The Ice Cream Shop (The Long Counter)
My Official Ranking of Ice Cream Flavors
I tasted every flavor at the ice cream shop, for science. Then I ranked them. Some of the flavors took it badly.
It was a hot day, so I went to the ice cream shop and asked to taste every flavor. They gave me the little spoons. Thirty-one little spoons later, I had a ranking. It’s official, because I made it, and I made it very seriously.
The Ranking
- Chocolate. Rich, powerful and popular. A natural leader.
- Vanilla. Underrated. Goes with everything. A great team player.
- Strawberry. Pink and proud. I respect that.
- Cookies and cream. Two desserts in one. A very good deal.
- Mint chocolate chip. Fresh. Very fresh. Almost too fresh.
Numbers 6 to 30 were all excellent, in their own way, and all very cold.
- Plain. This turned out to be the cup of water for rinsing the spoons.
The Flavor I Invented
The shop didn’t have a flavor named after me, so I suggested one: Donny Delight. Vanilla with chocolate swirls, little sprinkles and a cherry on top, wearing a tiny paper tie.
The owner said she’d think about it. Then she gave me one more little spoon and a cone to go, on the house. I think Donny Delight is very close.
Frequently Asked Questions
Cone or cup?
Cone. A cup is for people who are afraid of drips. I'm not afraid of anything, except drips on my tie.
How many scoops?
Three. Chocolate, vanilla and whichever one is looking at me.
