Reading the site

The site is static pages served by Cloudflare. We count visits with Mosaicdeck analytics, which records pages viewed and a few events (a Share click, say). Your browser sends those to Mosaicdeck directly, so, like any website you load something from, it sees your IP address. Cloudflare keeps its usual request logs to run and protect the site.

Some things are remembered in your own browser: the adventures and budget ideas you've seen, your applause count, and your store cart. The first two are never sent to us. The cart stays in your browser until you check out, when its products, sizes and quantities go to our store service to start the payment. Clearing your browser's site data clears them all.

Ask Donny

What you type to Ask Donny goes to our chat service and on to an AI model provider (Anthropic, or Cloudflare Workers AI) through Cloudflare's AI Gateway, to write Donny's reply. Your IP address is used for a few minutes to limit how many messages one visitor can send, and the chat may ask Cloudflare Turnstile to check you're not a bot. Don't type anything private: Donny would tell everyone.

The newsletter box

There's no newsletter. The box doesn't send or keep your email address. That's the joke.

The Donny Store

  • Payments are processed by Stripe. You pay on Stripe's checkout page. This site never sees or stores your card number. Stripe handles your payment details under its own privacy policy.
  • Orders are fulfilled by Printful. To make and ship your order, your name, shipping address and email address go from Stripe to us and on to Printful, which handles them under its own privacy policy. They're used for your order and nothing else: no mailing list, no selling, no sharing for advertising.
  • The digital certificate, and the items whose pages say they're made specially, are sent by the site's owner, who sees the order in Stripe to do it.
  • Our store service logs order and product ids to keep track of orders. It never logs card details, addresses, email addresses or names.

Donations

The "Help keep Donny's lights on" button opens a Stripe payment page. Stripe processes the payment; we see the amount and whatever Stripe passes on to identify the payment. Donations cover hosting. They're not a political contribution, and this site isn't affiliated with any campaign or candidate.

Questions

For anything about an order, write to the address on your Stripe receipt. Little Donny is a fictional character and has no interest in your data. He's more interested in himself.
