My Patent for a Tie That Ties Itself
Tying a tie takes time. I've invented one that ties itself. Here is my patent application, with every claim.
Every morning, millions of people stand in front of a mirror and fight with a tie. I’ve solved it. I’ve invented a tie that ties itself, and I wrote the patent application myself. A patent protects an invention, so nobody can copy it without permission. Here are my claims.
The Claims
- A tie that ties itself. Put it around your neck, clap twice, and it ties a perfect knot.
- The length setting. Choose short, medium or “mine,” which is long.
- The color setting. Red, blue or “the red one.”
- Wind mode. In strong winds, the tie stays down. No more tie over the shoulder.
- Soup mode. If soup approaches, the tie lifts itself out of the way.
- The power source. Confidence, and two small batteries.
Testing
The first test was a big success. I clapped twice, and the tie tied a perfect knot. Then another. Then another. It didn’t stop. By the end, it was a very short tie with a very large knot.
I’ve sent the application off. These things take time, and I’m told an invention has to work every time. Mine works every time. It just works a lot.
Frequently Asked Questions
What if you clap by accident?
The tie ties itself. At a concert, that can be a problem.
Will it come as a bow tie?
Bow ties are complicated enough already. I don't want the tie getting ideas.
