Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (The Runway)
How to Do the Donny, My Famous Airport Dance
I stepped off the plane in Malaysia and invented a dance on the spot. It has two moves. Both of them are perfect.
I landed in Kuala Lumpur and there were dancers on the runway. Beautiful costumes. Drums. Tremendous energy. Someone had told them Donny was coming, and they wanted to see a professional.
So I gave them one. Now the whole world is learning the Donny. Here’s how.
The Steps
- Walk down the airplane stairs slowly, so everyone has time to find their phones.
- Raise your fists to chest height. Not higher. Higher is showing off.
- Move them up and down, then side to side. That’s the Donny. You did it.
- Stop before you sweat. The Donny never sweats. The Donny glistens.
The Reaction
The dancers had trained their whole lives, and I learned it in four seconds. You could see it on their faces. Respect, or shock. Both are good.
The prime minister came out to meet me and clapped along. I think he was taking notes.
The video went everywhere. More people watched it than watched the moon landing, probably. I don’t need to check. When you know, you know.
Coming Soon
A third move. I’m saving it for a very special runway.
