Off the Coast of Massachusetts (Starboard Side)
My Feedback Form From the Whale Watching Tour
I went whale watching. Three hours on a boat, and the whales were late. At the end, they asked for feedback. I had feedback.
I went whale watching off the coast of Massachusetts. Three hours on a boat, with binoculars, a guide and a hundred people pointing at waves. At the end of the trip, they handed out feedback forms. Here’s mine.
Feedback Form
How would you rate your experience? Four stars. The fifth star is waiting for a whale.
Did you see any whales? One tail, for one second, on the far side of the boat, while I was looking at the near side. Bad seating.
What did you enjoy most? The guide’s voice. Very calm. “Whale at two o’clock.” I like a man who keeps a schedule.
What could we improve? Schedule the whales. Put up a sign: “Whales, This Side.” And give the best side of the boat to the most important passenger.
Anything else? The ocean was very big. I’ve never seen so much of something I don’t own.
Their Reply
They thanked me for my feedback and explained that whales are wild animals and can’t be scheduled. I understand completely. I’m also very hard to schedule. That’s why I like them.
Frequently Asked Questions
Did you see a whale in the end?
A tail, for one second. One second was enough. I'm very efficient with tails.
Will you go back?
Yes, if the whales confirm in advance.
