Low Earth Orbit (Window Seat)
My Entry in the Space Station's Guestbook
The space station just marked 25 years with people living aboard, nonstop. A place like that needs a guestbook.
On November 2, the International Space Station marked 25 years with people living aboard, without a single empty day. Visitors have come from more than two dozen countries. A place like that needs a guestbook. I wrote in it, upside down.
My Entry
Name: Little Donny.
Home address: Earth. The nice part.
How was your stay? Excellent. The view goes all the way around. I saw my house several times before lunch.
What could we improve? The beds are on the walls. I’d put them on the floor, where beds go. Also, a shower. A real one.
Would you recommend us? Yes. Twenty-five years without one empty night. I’ve owned a lot of rooms, and I’ve never had a record like that.
For the Next 25 Years
Add a restaurant. Add a gift shop. Add gravity, in one room only, for visitors like me who prefer to sit. Keep everything else. It’s a tremendous place to float, and nobody floats like me.
Frequently Asked Questions
Have you been to the space station?
In spirit. My guestbook entry is waiting for the next rocket. Rockets are very reliable with paperwork.
What's the view like?
A trip around the whole world, about every ninety minutes. Even I'd call that a good view.
